Nicole & Jacob’s Stunning Wedding at Tythe Barn Bicester, Launton
There are certain weddings that truly take your breath away, and Nicole & Jacob’s celebration at the beautiful Tythe Barn in Launton was no exception. As a London documentary wedding photographer, it's my job to capture the magic of each moment as it naturally unfolds, and this wedding was overflowing with so many heartfelt memories that tell a beautiful story.
The day began with an outdoor ceremony in front of the barn, framed by a stunning floral display created by the talented Honey Bunch. The pink and orange flowers added a vibrant touch to the rustic backdrop of the barn, setting the perfect stage for Nicole & Jacob’s vows.
One of the most touching moments was seeing Nicole’s mother give her away. The deep connection between them was palpable, and you could feel the love in the air. Nicole and Jacob incorporated a special unity candle ceremony, lighting a candle together as a symbol of their new life as one. These intimate moments are what make documentary wedding photography so powerful—it allows the raw emotions of the day to shine through in every shot.
After the ceremony, guests showered the newlyweds with confetti in front of the barn, creating vibrant and joyful scenes, perfect for storytelling wedding photography. There was plenty of time for relaxed, candid photos as guests mingled during the drinks reception, toasting the happy couple and enjoying the beautiful surroundings of the venue.
The wedding breakfast began with a heartfelt blessing from Jacob’s grandfather, followed by moving and often hilarious speeches from the best man, bridesmaids, and Nicole’s mum. Capturing the laughter and tears in the room reminded me once again why I love documentary wedding photography—it’s all about those real, unscripted moments.
As the sun began to set, guests were treated to Aperol Spritzes, a lovely way to kick off the evening festivities. Nicole & Jacob cut their cake with smiles that lit up the room, and soon the dance floor was full of energy and celebration. From the romantic first dance to the lively crowd joining in, every moment was a reminder of how special this day was.
