About Me

Hey, it’s Gemma

I’m an award-winning London wedding photographer, capturing love stories all over the world.

Flea market hunter, rom-com watcher, spontaneous adventurer. These days, you’ll find me soaking up the salty air in Margate. My sidekick? Monkey, my Cambodian street dog rescue pup. I love finding beauty in unexpected places. I believe in feeling all the feelings—big, messy, joyful, heart-thumping—because that’s what makes us human. Making art makes my heart sing, and I’m so grateful I get to do this for a living. I’m a bit fanatic about travel—especially the kind that throws me out of my comfort zone. I once left for a six-month trip and came back five years later. I’ve lived on three continents, explored 36 countries, and even owned a bar & restaurant in South-East Asia. So if your wedding plans involve hopping on a plane, you know I’m in.

Telling stories through my camera is my calling. I started my career in photography as a photojournalist & travel photographer, I’ve worked on projects in Colombia, Kenya, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia. I have a degree in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography from the University of the Arts London.

My drive has always been to share with the world stories of incredible people doing incredible things. It’s the moments of raw human emotion that make a story. And that’s why I love photographing weddings. Documenting the vulnerable, joyful, passionate and tender moments of your wedding day so that your story is never forgotten.

The Experience

Guess what?

I hate having my photograph taken! And I hear you when you say you do too. But here’s the truth; it can be fun!

When I photograph you, I make images that FEEL like you. That capture those little things that make you a great couple. The way she makes you laugh, or the way he strokes your hair, how you respond to one another. My job is to observe the small things that make you an amazing couple and capture them on my camera. My approach is to give you very gentle direction to help put you at ease and bring out these beautiful interactions between the two of you.

I’ll never put you in high fashion poses. It’s just not my style. I want to make art that shows you how you are when you’re alone dancing in your kitchen, or snuggling on the sofa (minus the PJs, plus some epic wedding attire). I want to make you feel seen and celebrated, not moulded.

Have a little look around. If you haven’t yet, explore my website and socials. Get a feel for who I am. If I sound like your kind of person and you love my photographs, it’s time to get in touch.

 The Investment

When you book with me you not only get a documentary wedding photographer, but also a friend to help guide you through the wedding process. I know wedding planning can be stressful, I know unexpected things can happen. Having worked alongside many brides and grooms over the years, I know that sometimes you need the advice of someone who has seen it all.

Gemma is a phenomenal photographer. She was so low profile and somehow so central to the day. We really didn’t want a photographer who directed us around, and even with me specifically telling her we hate posing she managed to get stunning photos that look like she spent hours telling us how to stand and pose. I’m in awe of her talent, truly. If you want a documentary style photographer who makes you look absolutely beautiful and doesn’t occupy your entire day with photography, Gemma is your person. The photos she took are amazing. She didn’t stop the flow, interrupt things, make us miss anything. I’m genuinely in awe at how talented she is. Stop your research and hire Gemma right now.

Emily & Max

I offer both digital and analogue photography and would love to discuss the differences with you over a video call. They both have their advantages, and sometimes the best solution is a mix of the two. If that sounds right for you, any number of rolls of film can be added to the digital package.

I know not all weddings are the same, for destination weddings you may require multiple days coverage, whereas elopements and registry office weddings may require only a few hours. Flexible options are covered in my pricing guide, which you can request below. My couples typically invest £2000 - £2500 when booking their photography with me.
